What's a good flight combat game (not 1942)

I play COD with a bunch of guys and was thinking of maybe getting into some air combat games. What are some of the best air combat games. Era doesn't matter (they can be WWII planes or new f18 type jets)...whatever

I used to play Combat Flight Sim 2 a whole lot.... I think it's a lot of fun. It's a WW2 plane shooter. You can usually pick up a copy for around 10-20 bucks since CFS3 is out (but not too good, I've heard)

I heard that Lock On or whatever it was called was supposed to be good but I don't know now.

If you want constant all around action then try the WWII era flight games (Combat Flight Sim, IL-2). If you want depth and detail then something like Lock On would be cool. By Lock On does require a pretty hefty rig to get good performance but if you got the juice, turn up all the eye candy...the visuals will amaze you!

I hear IL-2 Sturmovik is great...

My dad plays a number of flight sims and says this one is by far the best. Partially because the number of cheaters is MINIMAL, as compared to MS:CFS series, where cheating is about as bad as counter-strike.
