Question What's a Good External 4K UHD Blu-Ray Optical Drive?

I like the BDR-XD07UHD because it supports M-disc. May not apply to you though. I need to find the model of my drive, 1 sec.
BDR-XS07UHD. I've had it a while now, so I'm sure it's been replaced.

Both models look like they support M-disc.

I see that now. I was using my phone and didn’t see it at first. The BDR-XS07UHD is what I have. I went with it because I like the slot. I guess I shouldn't drink and post.[:tearsofjoy:

Interesting. I just purchased a Pioneer 4k and after purchasing decided to read reviews. Thats when I found I screwed up big time because there is no support for 4K by Intel processors from 11th gen on and no Windows 11 support for it either since there was so many issues with SGX vulnerabilities. So my Pioneer will only do standard HD Blu Ray.

I have the PIONEER BDR-XS07U which has a slot-loading mechanism and supports 4K Bluray. Its the best drive I've used.
Bought it after doing a lot of research.

First time I hear of this and OMG... you're right!
This is really a nasty push to move high-definition/high-capacity media away from the computer realm.
Copyright and duplication control...

Yes, the 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-1115G4 processor can play 4K Bluray:

  • Graphics
The i3-1115G4 has Intel UHD Graphics for 11th Gen Intel Processors with a max resolution of 4096x2304@60Hz on HDMI and 7680x4320@60Hz on DP.

  • Speed
The i3-1115G4 processor has a base speed of 3.00 GHz and can reach up to 4.10 GHz.

However, smooth 4K video playback also depends on other factors like the graphics card, available memory, and the media player being used.
