whats a good DVD Recording company?

lozina

Lifer
I've always been a loyal Plextor customer- every CD and CD recording device I buy or recommend is a Plextor... I've never had problems and never produced a single 'coaster'. Unfortunately though, Cds are ancient technology nowadays, and I am looking to move on into dvd recording. I am totally unfamiliar with the companies offering DVD recorders- pioneer, toshiba, sony... How good quality are these dvd devices and which would you recommnd most to me?

CD's are not ancient technology, and for DVD's well we still have a standards war going on. But your best bet is the pioneer DVR-A03. It will run you about 380US. thats considered the best, of course you can find cheaper solutions .. good luck ..

standards war?

i have not heard of this...

does this mean burning a dvd on certain drives render it unreadable to other brands???

and what about regular dvd players for home entertainment systems- will they be able to read off of dvds burned on these drives?

Compatibility report ...
Be sure to read the rest of the article ... it compares the Pioneer DVD-RW with the Philips DVD+RW.
