What's a good digital or HDTV to get in the 43" - 55" range?

i vote for mitsubishi as well, after looking around for a month or so i decided to go with a 55 inch widescreen mitsubishi, some stores around here that sell only widescreen tv's only sell mistubishi models

Sony 57HW40 (something like that) is a real good looker out of the box for the price, mits 55819 or drool 55908 offers a better picture and more vibrant colors/greyscale but requires more tweaking.

Toshiba convert 480p to 540p, losing resolution and adding artifacts. try to stay away from those.

I have a fully tweaked 65819 and it is simply gorgeous.

Most of the tvs that I see have 480p/1080i, what happened to the 720p? I thought that looked like a great resolution.

I had a mitsubishi 60" widescreen hdtv but i had some problems with it. I ended up downsizing to a Toshiba 40H80 40" widescreen HDTV. Both beautiful sets. Just buy what you can afford, they all look fantastic.
