One of our computer had a 48x Creative CD-ROM drive and recnetly it started having difficulty with focusing and slows down to 6x every time on every disc no matter what computer I tried that stupid drive in. We've had it for abit over a year. Darn... I bet they're made to break down right after the warranty is over.
Anyways the Creative drive is made by some generic company.

I'm looking to replace it and I'm considering an I/O Magic(yes they change supplier all the time)56x since I can get it for $30 right now. Anyone have experience with those?

We seldom use the CD-ROM drive on this computer and whatevers cheap will do for now.
