I just got my PlexWriter 24/10/40A and it came with Roxio Easy CD Creator Standard Edition and Roxio Direct CD.

Should i stick with that or go with something else. My friend was sayin Nero had features Roxio only dreamed of. He was sayin Nero had Super Video that burned higher quality than just normal video ....cant say that ive found anything about Super Video in Roxio yet since i just installed it. Then he said something about Hybrids....dont even know what that is. Then as quoted from our Trillian chat, "nero can convert pal video signals(japan) to ntsc video(usa)". Oh and ,"even burn in mpeg2 wow".

Any suggestions?
Thx

IMHO, Roxio aka EZCD is the biggest piece of crap ever made...stay away from it. If you check the forum, you can see that it has caused more than just a few headaches. My favorites are CDRwin, Nero, and CloneCD. And they all play very nicely together when installed on the same machine....something I cant say about Roxio.

CDRwin I use to make Bin/Cue images
Nero for mastering my own MP3 cds and VCDs
Clone for CD to CD copying.

Each one has features that I like, thats why I use all three.

Second Nero and CloneCD!
CDRWin is also good, bot I think it's not for normal day-to-day use...more for the power user that needs to
do unusual stuff..

I have Nero on my new system and Roxio on my old system. I prefer Nero.

The only thing I like about Roxio is it has a better CD label creator of the two (IMHO). That is the only reason I keep it on my old computer. I do all my CD burning on the new system anyway.

Roxio stinks, about the only good thing about it is that it's easy to use.
Personally, I prefer Nero.
NTI's CDMaker 2000 is very nice also though.

Actually EZCD 5 is not bad at all. Most of the folks that trash it still remember EZCD 3 and such (which did suck). I burn super high quality CD's every day with Easy CD Creator, and my companies entire graphics dept archives all of their images with it.

Just because it has a user friendly GUI doesn't mean is a piece of crap, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion ;-).

CloneCD for copying CD's and either Nero or Roxio EZCD will be just fine for general burning.
