I'm looking for a car air freshner. so was wondering if there were any recommendations on a good brand to choose from.

If there's an oriental (vietnamese or filipino) store near you, look for My Shaldan/ Shaldan. Try it once and you'll be hooked on it.

no, these are gel-like in a can.

If you can find a dead animal on the road, throw it in the trunk, it'll make your whole car smell nice.

I got this great orange scented air freshener at Lowes for $4. Theres also a rebate for it for a $4 gift card for lowes.

Its bigger than then ones at asian stores and lasts much longer.

Usually I don't use any air freshener in my cars... but everybody else in my family seems to like the Yankee Candle ones. You can either get the Car Jars that you hang from something (mirror, turn signal, etc.) or you can just put regular potpourri in your ash tray (assuming you don't smoke.)
And it looks like you can buy Car Jars online.

I'll second the Car Jar. I got one as a Christmas present, the 'storm watch'. It smelled pretty good and lasted for a long time.
