Anyone have a 24 pin power supply?
Id rather not get an adapter, and get a true 24pin power supply...

Any suggestions on brands/models?

Thanks

well still waiting for ONE 6800gt.. i plan on upgrading in the future to two, but im not loaded with money or anything 🙂 if thats what you were insinuating...

20-30 isnt bad.

Zippy, newegg carries them. All of the japanese super-overclockers use them (the ln2 guys), so I think they're good for something. I have one myself that works good, although it is a little bit loud for my taste. I will probably put a new fan in it, but otherwise it's pretty nice; the cables are very long and numerous.

It also has internal pots for some adjustment, my 3.3 is at 3.5 (max it goes is around 3.52 or something, which isn't a lot, but it's enough).

Good call on Zippy. I've heard the same good things about them. Here's a deal on a 460w for $49 shipped. If the fan ends up being too loud, you could always replace it with a quieter one.

I have been wondering something about dual-rail PSUs. I have seen some PSU's with dual 12v rails that each only have 16a. What if one wanted to run say the MSI Neo2 Platinum? People report that it requires at least 20a to run, yet the 12v rails don't give that much. Is there some sort of power sharing going on?

If you did your research you'd know you cannot skimp on the power supply for an SLI setup. Minimum is an OCZ 520 (Powerstream not modstream). You could probably get by with a Fortron Source Blue Storm (500w). The Fortron also has adjustable pots. Most people that have been putting SLI setups together are saying not to get an Antec.

Here is a good list

really? ive seen quite a few people running antec truepower 480's.

havent seen many people talking bad about antecs, i was thinking truepower550 24pin.

Get a PC Power and Cooling 510 Deluxe SLI. These are specially made to accomodate SLI rigs as there are separate six pin connectors for each graphics card with nothing else on these lines so they get power straight from the PSU. Plus after talking with the guys over the phone I think they are some of the nicest people you'll ever meat. I recommend them highly!

Take a look at that Zippy that beatle linked for you. Cranks over 30 Amps on the 12V rail. The price has already gone up to $59. Snooze/Lose! You aren't likely to find better at the price (normally costs at least $100.!!!)

ya, cant watch forums all day though..its sold out now 🙁

I have never heard of Zippy until this thread, and seeing as how people usually bash any sort of no-name PSU's, I didn't even consider buying it.... oh well?

Its not a no-name psu. Its called "research."

It turns out there are two types of 24-pin ATX connections now. One for servers where the extra pins are all three voltages (3.3, 5, and 12). And the other for the new SLI applications and almost all the extra pins are for +12V.... Dam I wish they wouldn't do that. So if you had gotten the Zippy, you would have to do some serious modding to use it in an SLI application, but the savings would have compensated for the extra hassle.
. Anyway, I got lucky on that deal...

EPS12V & ATXGES 24-Pin Connector Pinouts

ATX-GES for AMD, and EPS +12v for Intel. You can swap pins sround if you are industrious enough (I have done it).

FSP, PC Power and Cooling, Zippy and a few others are also out there for good proces if you shop enough. Avoid the Antecs for OC use though. Hardforums and Xtremesystem both have numerous threads complaining about the newer Antecs, OCZ's, and the newer Enermax PSU's.
