The 2100S is a RAID capable controller. To use RAID, you need two separate drives. If you are looking to get the 2100S, try this.

It sounds like the 19160 card would be a good choice. 68-pin SCSI160 channel for boot disk and SCSI-1/2 50-pin connector as well.

Before you buy a 2100S go to storage review and check out all the problems and negative feedback its given in the forums.I would recommend a Mylex AcceleRAID 170 for 389 at hypermicro.

i have this one. ez 2 recommend. it lets u run both lvd (hard drives) & non-lvd (optical drives, burners, scanners, etc.) hardware without degrading perf of devices on the lvd bus (hdd's)

what do u wanna do w/ the card?

you'll need to figure out how many HDs you'll have, and are you going to run RAID on them or not.

Personally I'd go with Tekram, good price and performance, unless you want some real high end capabilities.
