Skull Candy! Any of the buds would be great, however, I don't like the ones that actually have the cups that go inside your ear. I've let people use my buds before and had some uh....leftovers smeared on the inside of the cups.

brainwavz are good budget ones. I personally like Etymotic the best due to accuracy and best isolation. I even use Etymotic on airplanes over the best noise canceling headphones (Bose QC15).

I have more earphones than I care to count, but if I had to keep just one set it would be the Phiaton PS210. They are sort sort of a hybrid between earbuds and canal phones and they sound fantastic.

So far as I'm aware, 99% of "cheap" buds share the same drivers from a small handful of Korean and Chinese manufacturers. I opted for a set of $4 Panasonic buds after reading that they shared drivers with a well-reviewed $35 set of Skull Candy ear buds.

I'm going to define cheap as being under $75.

I've been happy with Sennheiser buds but frankly I don't think I could really tell the difference between two sets of earbuds without listening to them side by side either. My ears just aren't that sensitive.

I've had two pairs of Sennheisers and both seemed to fall apart pretty quickly. I was disappointed (they were good while they lasted).

I'm using Ultimate Ears now and they seem to be holding up better and still sound good to me.

the question is does the Nexus 7 even sound half decent? My SGS2 was pretty horrible in sound compared to my iPod Touch. If you spend $100+ make sure it has other uses too because I would hate to buy a pair of good earbuds only for a crappy sound quality device.

...if you like getting nothing but bass

That is the first time I think I have ever seen someone blasting Senn's for being bass heavy. I use a lot of different cans, full, iem and earbuds, and I've always thought Senns weakest point was how soft they were in terms of bass.

People seem to be talking about the ~$100 range, so I'm assuming you are looking for budget/entry level buds? If that is the case, I normally say go with Klipsch S4s in that price bracket. For the record, I use Senn full cans for all of my PCs, I'm actually a rather big fan of their product line, I just think their earbuds overall don't match up well with Klipsch in the $100 and under price bracket.

Are you sure they are really Sennheisers? Ebay is sort of famous for sellers having unbelievable prices and usually they turn out to be fakes. Especially Senns (happened to me and a pair of older generation Senns).

Well I will see when I get them
