or you can get a JDM RB26DETT and swap it into slick top z32 (3000lbs) and it will outaccelerate and out handle any pony car out there...

[old guy]Well now, sonny :D .... That might be true on paper, but in my real world tests, I beat, off the line and from a rolling start EVERY ricer and L-7 'vette that rolled up on me. Seeing as I sold that car to buy my condo, we can't take it out today and get some corroboration, but I'm fine with my real life experiences as opposed to some rice dream.
BTW, none of the suspension and drive train were stock.[/old guy]

I thought a "crate" motor was basically a complete motor (minus intake and headers). Comes in a "crate"

so hit me with the numbers old timer....

the rb26 has been known to make over 600hp on stock internals and the z32 slicktop is about 400 lbs lighter than the car it orginally came in.

I would think a import owner should very well know Hp doesnt equal fast. Example is a Supra. What do a 400Hp and 800Hp Supra have in common? A 13 second 1/4 ;)

Previous version of 300ZX.

I would rather have that engine in a 240sx. It's not direct drop in though. They weigh 2750lbs and look better... more musclecarish proportions (looks like a Skyline in fact).

Good grief - that's not a stock engine, is it?

:Q

Stock engine internals, upgraded fuel system/fuel mapping, bigger ( a lot bigger) turbos, huge FMIC and the obvious fuel pump/injectors. The crank/rods/pistons all stock. They run those things at extremly high pressure (20-25 psi) so the compression ration is scarily big.

As far as the 1/4 time goes, z32 woudnt be the best cadidate for drag racing, as it doesnt haves solid rear axle. That being said the car is more than capable to get in 10s and whoop every muscle car on a circuit

in other words, no, it's not stock.

OK, I'm missing something here.
How does the boost pressure affect the compression ratio?

LOL, well, ok , your dicks bigger...... :D

I think the 302 did 300hp normally aspirated, And I think the Mustang was around 3000 lbs, iirc.I didn't have the chance to dyno it to get any real numbers. Just drove it for a few months then sold it to buy my house.:brokenheart: Still whupped every ricer that ran me, though......

I'm sure the z32 is very quick and a very nice machine. 600hp is nothing to sneer at, fer sure.
As was my Mustang.

actually yours might be bigger still. he said he has a z32, not this monster 600hp engine, or a slick top, whatever that is.
