So why dont we just say only real muscle cars and high end imports are fast...

Because there's alot of other cars that can be considered fast that don't fit into that.

Like......

300C, SRT8 Grand Cherokee, M3 (before it became rather expensive), WRX, V8 Grand Prixs, Lightning.

Um, the Lightning is fast. Also, a WRX is no slouch right out of the showroom and they can be made to be quite fast with a few simple mods.

WRX is actually the fastest sub $30000 out there. 0-60 in 5.5 seconds off the showroom.

Subaru SVX.

MR-2's aren't that slow, the MKII turbo ran 14's in the quarter from the factory. Mine runs low 13's at 15.5psi without much money into it. (stock turbo, intercooler, fuel system) Faster than the ricer coveted s2000 despite being 15 years older. Midengined is more fun anyway. ;)

qft. 11.6 1/4 is not slow, espicalyl when you've "Only" got 265hp.(blown, bored 2zzfe)

The MR2 is not a drag car anyway. You'd have trouble fitting more than 7 or 7.5" wide or more than 17" diameter rims on a MR2 spyder anyway if memory serves me right so traction would be severely limited anyway.

It's built to do Autox and curvy country roads anyway. 2150lbs 138hp, MR.

LMFAO and my corolla runs low 14s

Chrysler Crossfire. Non-Turbo 4 cylinder eclipses were pretty miserable. Unmodded IS300s are so-so.
