Isn't that a super long flight? I would think at least 10 hours, right?

1. You don't have to get up super early for the flight
2. You sleep on the plane.

You will arrive in HI at 4pm local time. This gives you time to get dinner, get settled in your room and go to sleep getting quality sleep starting you on your way to adjusting to the 5 hour time change. You will wake up to your first day in HI refreshed and ready to start your vacation.
No one gets quality sleep on a plane.
With the 8PM flight, you will waste an entire day in HI being extremely tired and stiff since you flew the entire night.

simple reason:
Delays occur more frequently as the day goes on.
That doesn't make any sense to me.Originally posted by: LikeLinus
Odd. I was talking to a destination company about two weeks ago and they said that night time flights are least likely to be delayed than morning flights. Their job is booking travel and things of this nature.

The 6am flight is likely among the first wave to leave the airport. Meaning that the plane should be waiting at the gate overnight and you aren't waiting for it to come in, thus avoiding any delays that would push your flight back.
