Man I used to love Rage Against the Machine, especially La Rocha's style of singing/rapping. Whatever happened to him? Is he still singing or planning to do so?

He tried a solo album/new band.

Its success is shown in your post.

Without RATM, he's just kinda "Rage", and political bashing rock didn't seem as hot without having that unique sound.

last I heard he kicked it Dave Chapelle style and went AWOL. No one knows where he went. He apparently missed some studio time and they arent exactly sure as to his location.

If you ask me, the only reason he even made it was because of the band. I really liked them as a group, but his constant bitching about everything still got old every now and then. The sad thing is that even the band isn't doing much now.

RATM were awesome, I still listen to their self-titled album very regularly - despite it first coming out in 1992

Audioslave, while are a good band, are missing the one thing that made RATM great - Zach de la Rocha and his very strong lyrics.

Chris Cornell is a great frontman, but the songs that Audioslave put out are a little too mellowed out for my liking, and they don't get to show off the great talents of Tom Morello and the rest of the RATM crew

I agree. I LOVE Soundgarden, but Cornell does not cut it with Audioslave.

RATM had one of the all time great debut albums, I memorized every single lyric on it.

I agree. I like Audioslave's music but if I didn't already know, I wouldn't be able to really tell that it's RATM's band members. Hell it may as well be Soundgarden.

You could always tell RATM was playing even if Zach wasn't singing at the time. They just had a style all their own.

I dunno....zach REALLY contributed to their sound. They were just any other metal band without his short, mexican a$$ SCREAMING into the mic about how much the system sucks!

Well you certainly could tell by his vocal talent as well, who was playing. But I still firnly believe that the instrumentals were very unique.

Didn't he go work for the Bush Administration... :p

jokes adsie... RATM was a fun group when i was young, opinionated, and less educated... I put it on the other day... and it just seemed kinda blah... not for me much anymore, outside of adding a tune or two to a workout playlist

Half of Audioslave's songs sound the freaking same, which wouldn't be as bad if it didn't anger me that Tom Morello is doing it. His guitar has the same sound over and over, and that's just not his trademark. That guy's one of the greatest guitarists of our time, and he's going to sh1t with that band.

In an interview with Trent Reznor I read recently, he said that he was supposed to help Zach produce one of his albums, but dropped the project because Zach had confused goals or something.

Cornell's "weird" voice for Audislave gets kind of annoying after you listen to a few songs
