Whatever happened to ZPG?

It was huge back in the 60's, 70's - have two or fewer kids because the population is going to overwhelm the planet and use up all the resources. It was a lot like the environmental - global warming thing these days. Haven't heard anything about ZPG in a long time, though. What happened?

Many Industrialized Nations have already achieved it.

Non Industrialized nations weren't allowed to have rubbers for the last 8 years...good luck with that....

Most white nations are in negative population growth. The leaders of these nations are white (except for ironically, the US now) and don't want the brown people to take over, so they stop pushing it.

Look at pretty much any European nation where white people aren't having kids and the muslim immigrants are exploding in growth.

We have achieved it in most 'western' countries. The US is only growing in population due to legal and illegal immigrants. Reducing the birth rate any further won't help that problem much.

They have determined that the best way to reduce birth rates is to increase educational opportunities for women. Building schools is much more effective than handing out condoms, in poor, overcrowded countries.

I remember reading an article from national geographic a few years ago about how population in europe was in decline, and what to do to increase it.

That isn't necessarily because white people want to remain in power. A lot of white politicians from the Liberal Democrat party and Labour party are pandering to this idea of "political correctness" (aka, the Muslim thugs can scream "death to Israel" but when white people say "Go Israel, they're labeled fascists.") in order to gain power.

White people are decreasing in birth rate in Europe because of white guilt and they no longer have anything to live for now that the government gives everything to them.

We will probably have another babyboom coming our way. I see everyone has at least 4-5 kids these days, even people who arn't married sometimes have kids, which leads to screwed up families. I personally don't see the desire in having kids, I rather get a gold fish or something, they listen better.

That was fine for Americans, but since this country is now full of Mexicans breeding faster than bunny-rabbits its sort of a moot point.

so your saying that muslims are really fuckers?

ZPG and NPG are bad. You want positive population growth. Population growth is good for the economy and is a resource for nation that make productive use (in a positive way) of their people. Strain on resources has to do with inefficiencies, political and economic corruption, overconsumption of resources by wealthy (including middle class), etc.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: the planet and countries can sustainably support many, many more people than it does now. The problem is with wealth (particularly land) distribution and human nature, not with population. There are enough resources on the planet to last an indefinite amount of time, but not if everyone consumes at the rate of the average middle class American or greater.

Aw, quit picking on whitey already!

west europe and japan have (or at least had) negative population growth rates. the US is relatively stable because of immigration. for what it's worth, a stable population is an average of 2.1 children per woman (per some documentary i watched in world history class)

If your economic and social systems depend on constant population growth to sustain themselves, they aren't self sufficient and are nothing more than pyramid schemes. Eventually a point will be reached where the positive population growth is no longer realistic and you'll eventually have to implement the same kind of sustainable practices that can be applied today.
