Whatever happened to the Mystery Anthrax mailer?

This came up a while ago...

My totally-unsubstantiated hunch is that he was a good'ol American terrst who planned it before 9/11 and then lost the will when he saw he was being lumped with foreigners...

More likely he ran out of US Military Grade Anthrax, mission accomplished. Since the anthrax used in the attacks on leading opposition leaders to Bush's policies was of US stock it is logical to conclude that it was an inside job. After all only very very few people in the US have access to US made anthrax.

This was one of the very few actual terrorist incidents perpretrated on our shores post 9/11.

The anthrax was sent to two prominent liberal Democrats, Sen. Patrick Leahy and (now lame duck) Sen. Tom Daschle, as well as the "liberal media" like NBC news.

Hmmmmmm.

The Bush administration sprang into immediate inaction.

Sen. Leahy subsequently inquired about any possible investigative progress. Dick Cheney gave him his answer personally, on the Senate floor.

The administration did, however, find enough Justice Department resources to prevent an sickly Oregonian woman from using medical marijuana to help keep enough food down to stay alive.

Mission accomplished.
