Recently. Just tried that, no go.When did you notice this first happened? Try logging out and back in?
Oops! We ran into some problems.
You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action.
Same for me. Obviously...the MODS don't want to communicate with us peons...No, it does not, says that "Oops, there's been an error". "You do not have permission to access that link"
Was this supposed to be a public forum? I can fix it if it was.. no one has mentioned it to me personally though yet to fix it lol. Judging from the posts in there it was, so I've fixed it. Let me know if it's all good now.Strange, not sure. When did you notice this first happened? Try logging out and back in?
Not public per se.Was this supposed to be a public forum? I can fix it if it was.. no one has mentioned it to me personally though yet to fix it lol. Judging from the posts in there it was, so I've fixed it. Let me know if it's all good now.
Yeah @CParsons . If you've actually made it public site-wise, please go back and make it not-public.
It's not meant for everyone to see.
Oh, Jesus. Moderator Discussions was NOT a pubic forum, but users had access to 1) Create threads, and reply to threads, that that paticular user only, as well as the moderation staff, could read and reply to.
I explained two posts up.Well, none of that makes sense to me. Perhaps "Public" wasn't the right word. It wasn't available to EVERYONE, just if they had the permissions to view it. But I hid it again until we can sort out however it's supposed to be.
Right, but I'm trying to understand how if nothing changed with it why some folks who (apparently?) could see it before can now no longer see it. Not a single thing has changed with regards to permissions in that section. That said, if it never worked right before anyway, happy to just leave it be.I explained two posts up.
Anyone can create an MD thread, but only the person that creates the thread can see it.
It's really for getting one on one personal time with a mod without anyone else reading what they are talking about.
I think that the last forum-wide update FUBARedRight, but I'm trying to understand how if nothing changed with it why some folks who (apparently?) could see it before can now no longer see it. Not a single thing has changed with regards to permissions in that section. That said, if it never worked right before anyway, happy to just leave it be.
Yeah, there's a lot of usergroups set up in there, all with different permissions. Although nothing has changed, one of the permissions is overriding. You and Larry, by all accounts, should be able to view it but the FST usergroup you're in is not allowing it despite it being allowed. I'll have to dig in more.I think that the last forum-wide update FUBARed
the MD forum.
Look at my post #7 and Larry's post #8.
No doubt, it's a lot of organization to make it all work and even one off permission can mess everything up. I'll try and sort it out, it'll require setting up another account and testing each and every permission, so needless to say it won't get addressed today but I'll see what I can do now that I have better understanding of the intent / how it's supposed to work. All mods can see the contents of MD forum and can technically respond to any thread.
We mods, we see nothing wrong.
But in addition to the members now not having access there was always a problem that was never fixed.
The MD forum was a place where a vacationed member could plead their case with the mods.
But an unwanted side effect of them being on vacation was they couldn't see any replies that any mod made in their MD thread. They could create the thread while on vacation but could not see/read any mod replies.
Read through some of the threads and they are littered with examples of vacationed members not being able to reply
I mean you cant blame them really!!Same for me. Obviously...the MODS don't want to communicate with us peons...![]()
