Only because I'm sick of news stories about every young girl/woman who vanishes. Who, besides their family, cares? I don't need 24 hour news about it for weeks on end. People vanish/get killed every day. Why is some dumb bitch more important that any other schmo that buys the farm or disappears?

4. Because Aruba wants to keep its reputation for being the safest US tourist spot over-seas.

to bad aruba lost the reputation as being safe. not to mention they now have the reputation as the most inept police force ever. Also there judical system is crap.

But this should serve as a good leason to young people.

1. Do not get drunk and leave your friends
2. Do not be a slut and wonder off with 3 guys
3. IF you do the above and get killed make sure you are a rich cute white women to keep it in the news.

I've been all over the world, both in the military and as a civilian, and I never just let my common sense just fly out of the window. If anything I am more guarded when I'm overseas. What this chick did was drop her defenses so she could have a good time. That my friend is stupid and nobody's fault but her own.
