He just had some sig that talked about schizoid being "his lover". And if I remember correctly, he said he had the first tin-foil-hat-icon, and a flavor flavicon or something.
Anyone else remember?
See Sig! It will be interesting to see if ye olde flavor-flavicon still works after however many revisions to the board software!
I still wander in every few months and see what everyone's chattering about, but I always resist the urge to post and get hooked again 🙂 Sometimes I search my name to see if that thread about "Who would be your phone-a-friend if you were on WWTBAM?" is still alive (it is, over 8 years old now), and I was quite surprised to do so today and see that Scootermaster (bless your heart) had afforded me the singular honor not just of a "Whatever happened to..." thread, but allowing me to stand alongside my friend and arch-nemesis Schizoid.
Schizoid and I always had good time ripping each other. I liked him because he he was willing to take just as much crap as he dished and never got offended. He was banned (I think for just neffing too much) and occasionally resurfaced with a sock puppet account where he would blend in until finally deciding to reveal himself with an obvious salvo of nef posts about Carlton Fisk. In real life I should think he now has completed his PhD in Computer Science!
As for me, my exit was not nearly so dramatic...I just kinda wandered away. Believe it or not, I got hooked on ATOT on 9/11/01...I used to only follow ATHD and unable to get any news from normal news outlets, I found that there was a lot information flying on ATOT. After that, I stuck around!
But in 2001 I was young, single, living alone, and had plenty of time to waste on ATOT.
I have since gotten married, bought a house, and taken up a couple of additional hobbies/athletic pursuits. I stopped going on ATOT at work because I felt it was too much of a procrastination tool/time waster, and these days I rarely touch a computer when I'm not at work. So, time spent on ATOT became less and less and ebbed to nothing.
Hope you all are also doing well!
