Whatever happened to .net?

.org and .com seem to be the standards now, but thinking about it I can't come up with one website I visit often or have visited recently that uses .net as its main address. Whats the deal?

Try http://www.bit-tech.net for a peek at similar, yet different forums that are here. It's a good chance to see what the rest of the English speaking world has to say besides just Americans. Members take computer modification to a whole new level in the "Modding" section. This also contains work logs of these projects too.
