It's only being used by Sapphire, which is AMD's official board partner (like EVGA with NVIDIA).

I've bought Sapphire cards twice in a row now, and there was no Ruby on the box cover, just some chica who doesn't look like Ruby for the 6850, and an army girl for the 7970.

Sounds like she wasn't very popular, then. As a result, they murdered her and only her memory remains with us. :'(

She was a red. Don't get me wrong I like reds in the moment. But they aren't the stereotypical fantasy that lasts.

I can't seem to find it right now, but I thought AMD used Ruby running from a robot for the 5870's tech demo.
