I hear of Charles Barkley sitings all the time (he used to keep a house in Greystone I believe; wasn't that where Michael Jordan stayed when he was playing minor league baseball here?) but never hear many mentions of Bo Jackson's current whereabouts.

I honestly have no idea. I haven't heard that he was involved with much locally, so I assumed he moved. I could be wrong, but I don't think he lives here anymore. He may have a residence but that again is just a guess. I do believe MJ lived in Greystone.

It's really too bad Bo's hip got pretty much destroyed in what was essentially a freak accident. He was one of the most talented athletes I've ever seen, and he was a spectacular running back.

Oh, and he was damn good in Tecmo Bowl, too. ;)

Bo used to live 5 houses down from me. I was a teen and I didn't know anything about football or football players. I played football with him in a field by my house and when he tackled me, it hurt like fvck. He gave me an autographed pic of him when he had to move because the Raiders moved. =(

His career ended all too quietly when that season was cut short by a players strike. Not long after, his "Bo Knows" campaign for Nike, once a loud voice on the advertising landscape, ended just as quietly. Before the 1995 season began, Jackson retired from pro sports.

"God has his way of opening up our eyes to see reality," he said. "The way He opened my eyes is to allow me to have this hip injury. That is a rough way to go, but I had to accept the fact."

Keeping a promise he made to his mother before she died of cancer in 1992, Jackson went back to Auburn and graduated in December 1995 with a bachelor of science degree in family and child development.

He opened a motorcycle shop outside Chicago and went into partnership with Charles Barkley on an Alabama restaurant. He serves as president of the Sports Medicine Council, a non-profit, youth outreach organization of HealthSouth Corporation.

He was seated next to a friend of mine during the graduation ceremony. :)
