What'd happen if Dracula sucked blood from someone with AIDS?

I was watching this clip on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGF7mseJqN8&NR=1

And I started thinking about it. Vampires are immortal, but HIV kills 100% of its victims. Certainly, vampires can't be immune to AIDS, can they?

And if they aren't what happens to the people they bite? Will they pass the AIDS on? On the other hand, if they are immune, wouldn't it be preferable for HIV victims to give themselves to vampires?

Well?

Vampirism is a virus and it kills all viri.

Unless you believe vampires are really another creature living inside the human...

HIV does not kill. it kills your immune system, you die when your immune system can't put up a decent fight.

Vampires aren't immortal.
- they need blood to live
- if they are exposed to sunlight, they die
- if you feed them bulk beef, they die of a heart attack

Your hypothesis (proposed scenario?) is impossible...Dracula lived from 1431 to 1476, (OK, Vlad the Impaler) or the "modern Dracula" per Bram Stoker, in the late 19th century...both FAR before HIV/AIDS...

I think this depends on what kind of vampire you're talking about. If this is some kind of magical vampire that defies the basic laws of physics it will definitely be immune. If this is a human that's been changed by a virus in a totally non-magical and scientifically describable way they may or may not be immune, depending on how their immune system has been altered.

But I admit I was thinking the same thing all the way through Underworld.

he'll become a carrier. If you get attacked, you have a choice of contracting HIV or Vampirism.

It depends how a vampire's physiology works. Consuming blood might not cause infection, it has to come in contact with your own bloodstream. If it just goes into the stomach probably the virus would not survive the stomach acids. Unless the vampire has a wound in the mouth or oesophagus.

Probably the best idea would be to consider how an actual vampire bat or other blood-sucking creature processes the blood they suck, presumably vampires would be analogous. Can those creatures get viruses from the blood they suck?

Also, vampires don't exist.
