Spotted on 10/19, by an eagle-eyed Wonkette reader: The Mid-Atlantic Shredding Services truck making its way up to the Cheney compound at the Naval Observatory.

Fun fact: Mid-Atlantic Shredding Services has been contracted by the Secret Service for our Executive Branch?s record-not-keeping needs.

The present contractor providing Pickup & Destruction of Sensitive Waste Material services is Mid Atlantic Shredding Services and the current rate is $0.095 cents per lbs.

And you know that what's being shredded is top secret classified information? Even if it is, why is it being shredded, esp. so close to the election ;)

Honestly, I can't see why Cheney would have so many classified documents in his personal care that this service would be necessary. As involved as he likes to be in all matters "Secret", briefers should be the keepers of that info not him. Probably just regular crap. Carry on.

my opinion is that the government is doing a job for the people, and because of that nothing done by the government should be shreded, safety through trancparency

My understanding was that Cheney had Sandy Berger over for dinner the night before and was just getting some advice on how to hide anything that might embarase them.

One thing Sandy suggested was to NOT put classified briefings in your socks and try to sneak out with them like he did.

BTW: Outside the Sandy Berger case when is the last time we have had a real document shredding or destruction story in the news?
