What you should look for in a motherboard.

Hey guys, I dont know if you have seen one of my other Topics but im new to this forums and i have a ton of questions i need to ask. Well in this section (motherboards), i wanted to know what you should look for when choosing a motherboard. I want to get a Core 2 Duo chips by Intel and i want DDR2 memeory. But what else do you need to know? There really cant be much can there?

Be sure that it has PCI Express x16 . (One of the ASrocks has a mechanical 16 lane slot, but in fact will limit your graphics card, from a bandwidth and power standpoint)

Maybe you need IDE functionality for your legacy drives. (HDisk or Optical disk drive)

Maybe you want a parallel/serial port. (I sure do, and some new mobos these days don't)

Maybe you aren't going to use those extra PCI-Express 1x lanes, and would be better off with a mobo which has PCI slots instead.

Are you over-clocking?
