Hey gyys some is selling this for around 750 including a monitor.

- Intel Core i7-3770K processor
- NVIDIA - GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card
- ASUS P8Z77-V LGA Motherboard
- 1 TB hardrive
- 8gb DDR3 RAM
- DVD optical Drive
- USB 3.0 and 2.0
-750w Power Supply
-Several fans with optional LEDS for cooling

Should I jumps on this? How well is this future proof?

Some questions I would ask before making up my mind...

- Is this a brand PC or a custom built rig?
- Are any of the components still under warranty?
- CPU comes with the stock cooler I assume?
- Is the graphics card a reference model with a blower style cooler, or a third party model with a more efficient cooler?
- Is the hard drive 7200 RPM or 5400 RPM
- What is the RAM module configuration, is it 2x4GB, 1x8GB or perhaps even 4x2GB? Secondarily is it 1333MHz or 1600Mhz or even higher?
- What is the PSU model?
- Is a case included?
- What model is the included monitor, or at least what resolution?

In terms of how future proof it is, the CPU+GPU combo will play all current games fine. I would look into upgrading the GPU in about a year, then the GPU, CPU, motherboard and RAM in about 3 years. You may or may not need more RAM at some point

Trade the 3770K for a 3570K and a 128GB SSD. Be sure to install the OS before connecting the 1TB drive.
 
I had the PC assembled at Microcenter
-All the expensive parts are under warranty (The processor, Graphics card, the motherboard not sure what else of the top of my head)
-Cpu comes with stock cooler
- The hardrive is 7200 RPM
-The ram is 8gb 2x4 1600MHZ
-THe PSU is a Corsair 750W CXMOD
-The case is included and is a thermaltake Chaser gaming case.
-Don't know what the resolution is, but the monitor is an Asus.

These are his answers.

All in all it seems like a nice deal. That's about $1100 worth of hardware for $750.

He didn't answer the question about the graphics card?

The resolution is pretty important. I'm sure he can tell you waht model it is if he knows it is Asus.

I am, by no means, an expert but I do believe you are getting a ton of value for your money.

Monitors don't usually go with gaming computers and this one is a pretty good one at that. Make sure you check everything with him and also, how used is the computer?

lol he does pc gaming on youtube. also the guy said he is keeping the monitor because he actually uses it so i will be out of one. Is this still a good buy without the monitor? And recommend me a decent one. Also the gfx card is evga.

Hmm, damn that would have been a steal imo. Anyway, I would personally still make that purchase. You get a bunch of good quality components (have you checked all this over w/ him and everything works?) and a rig that can play a lot of games on high.

as for gaming monitors, I would suggest this article as well as the graphics forum on Anandtech.

Naah he said it was purchased 2 months ago and the parts are under warranty. The 660 ti plays all the games i currently want and have on high or better so I'm not too worried. Also Im not look for an over the top monitor it needs to be as cheap as it can be while doing 1080p gaming

How cheap can you go? The BenQ and ASUS on the article I showed you is I think less than $300 and they play at good resolutions.
 
Hm, $700 without the monitor is cutting it close for being good value for money as far pure performance is concerned. You could build a new rig with the same gaming performance for about the same money, albeit with a 3570K, no SLI/CF support and a cheaper case and PSU.

3570K + P8Z77-V LK $305 AR
Seagate 1TB + Rosewill Galaxy-01 ATX case $100
MSI 7950 3GB + 2x4GB DDR3-1600 $267 AR
Corsair CX600 $40 AR AP
Lite-On DVD burner $18

= $730 AR AP

So paying $700 for the used parts only gets you very marginal savings for the same gaming performance (while of course still acknowledging that some parts in the used build are higher end). In fact the 7950 is a better card than the 660 Ti in the used build.

Maybe you could haggle the price down to $650 without the monitor? Or try to talk him into including the monitor as per the original deal? Or just suck it up and build your own rig. 😀

Yea fair points. But the original deal never included the monitor, it was added later. Also isn't that 730 going to be a bit higher if os is not included. Also where the option to sli is added i'd rather take it than have nothing at all. The receipt will also be included for warranty purposes.

Edit: he says it has been sitting for a month so its not even been used. As long as it can run games high with some future proofing its ok. But like i said before if it offers head room for future updates i will rather take it than build something else, even though it was an initial idea.

You never mentioned an OS license is included in the used PC. If that's true then it certainly is worth it without the monitor.

The option for SLI/Crossfire will most likely go unused if you're only gaming on 1080p. I was mistaken about the new rig though, the motherboard is actually SLI/Crossfire compatible, you would only have to get a PSU with four PCIe connectors to top it off.

Whether the warranty is transferable depends on Microcenter's policy and/or the manufacturer's policy. I don't know if you will be eligible for the warranty or not

Monitor or not, it's still a steal if the warranties are still valid. I'd take it in a heartbeat!

BTW: Is the operating system included? If it is, that guy is either retarded for selling the PC to you at that price, or there's a bomb inside it.

Yes it does include windows 7. I think the warranty is manufacturer. Also i would have purchased it if my payal transfer to my bank was posted. He lives around my area. Just came here to ask opinions because this is best place ive seen for it.

Edit: I also have a huge backlog of games that i wanted to play of which the 660 ti runs them fine as far as the videos I've seen.

Wow. If the warranties still cover the parts for a good bit of time, get it before he changes his mind (A PC with those parts usually sells for $1100, last time I checked)
