I wouldnt do it. The performance gain will not justify the money.

Ask yourself why. Unless you have a bundle of money to spend on a computer then do it, but if not don't. Spend it on something like a huge harddrive, video card, and even some nice speakers...

:D

Its up to you.

Well, nice choice on all the parts. I don't see any place needing improvements, but I can tell you that you WILL be able to get 3.0ghz with that thing easily, although you may want to get some ram that is a little faster because you will be able to get atleast 243mhz FSB with that thing which is 2.916 ghz. How do I know this? Its on the review for it, Anand used the 2.4C processor for some of the testing of the board, again its on the P4C800 article.

I don't think the higher speed RAM is necessary but it will make overclocking the FSB that much easier so you don't have to worry about pushing the RAM to far. I think your system will be great with that 80GB 8mb cache and 9800 Pro.

*fondly remembers the old days when he had money to blow for no particularly good reason*

...

*realizes that such a memory must be from a past life because that's certainly never happened in this lifetime!*

Sounds sweet. Have fun ;)

For 3.0 GHz on a 2.4C, 250 MHz FSB is what is needed. DDR500 is not gonna happen. Run the mem @ 5:4 and you will be @ DDR400. And no, it wont kill the performance.
