What Xbox 360 game should I rent?

I haven't played my Xbox in way too long, and since I have a pretty free weekend, I wanted to go rent a game for the next few days. My favorite game of all time is FFX, but on my 360 I own Call of Duty 4/5, Madden, Bioshock, Mass Effect, etc., pretty much all the usuals.

Any good RPG that's recently come out? I played Blue Dragon, which is a pretty popular RPG choice on the 360, and enjoyed it. I also played Mass Effect, but actually didn't like it at all..

Console Gaming is the proper sub-forum for this question SLCentral.

People will tell you Fallout 3. I didn't enjoy Fallout 3 but that's a game that most people will like. How about Fable 2???

Tales of Vesperia is nice. I am playing Star Ocean right now, and I plan to finish Infinite Undiscovery soon. I also have Eternal Sonata and The Last Remnant, which I hope to get started sometime this summer.

Who knew the 360 would be the RPG king at this point. (Although FF13 has shown up on Japanese PSN.)

I can't, in good faith, recommend any games to you because I do not respect your judgment on either what makes game good or which form to post in.

I haven't posted here on a regular basis in years, but from what I remember, video game posts used to be in OT. I'm sorry if that's changed...

Either way, I realize FFX isn't the highest ranked game, nor is it realistically the best game ever made, but I had more fun playing it with my friends then I've had playing any other game that I can remember...well, except Geometry Wars 2 on the 360.

Save Eternal Sonata for when you are desperate. While it's visually awesome and the battle system is pretty neat, the game as a whole is mind-numbing and the story is only great if you're like... 14.

I didn't HATE it... but I've never been so bored by the storyline of an RPG that I didn't want to immediately play through it again until I played ES.

i rank ffx pretty highly in my jrpg book as well. (not the highest, ff6 takes that spot.) the story was well written, and the ending was just great. game play was pretty decent too.

try tales of vesperia. i'm under the impression that it's the best jrpg out for the xbox at the moment. even for dubbed voices, they're pretty well done.

If you didn't play through ff12 I'd say find a ps2 and give that one a try. The story is weak for an ff game but the combat system is the best in any ff, and there are tons of optional bosses many of which are more difficult than the last boss.

edit: my lil brother found a ps2 slim on the side of the street the other day, so who knows you might find one just lookin down outside too 😛
