OK, so I have a friend who I usually talk to on AIM while we're at work. Now, I don't want it to sound like I only know him fro mthe internet, because he's a real life friend I've been to his house, he's been to mine, we've worked on each others cars, etc... stuff that friends do.

Anyway, three weeks ago, he was taking a week off and going on vacation. So, I expected that he'd be back in a week (which should have been June 9th). On June 10th I left him a phone message at his house and on his cell phone. I know he's not real good about answering phones or replying to messages, so I thought I might not hear from him until Monday when he was on AIM at work (he never uses the computer at home).

So, monday comes around, and he's not on AIM, and he's not online on Tuesday, either, or wednesday, etc. I figure maybe I was mistaken and he took a two week vacation instead of one week. So, the next weekend comes and goes. He's still not on AIM, and he still doesn't answer his phones.

However, this week I've seen him logged in and listed in the "currently online users" section on a different message board that we both visit. So, I started a thread over there asking for him to contact me, and sent him a private message. He hasn't responded to either of them, yet he's been online a couple more times that I've seen.

Before his vacation, he was always online between 8:00AM and 5:00PM on weekdays. Now it's like he's avoiding me. I don't want tp be a pest, as I've already sent him a PM, started a thread with his name in it, and left him two phone messages...

I dunno, as far as I know I didn't do anything that would have pissed him off. We were supposed to have plans when he got back from vacation, but he seems to be refusing to talk to me...

Well, if you're as big an a$$hole to him that you are to us here, it's no wonder.

you sure he didn't just leave his computer on, causing him to be "online" at the message board?

Meh, sometimes I don't want to talk to my friends. I wouldn't read too much into it if I were you.

He's not constantly online. He comes and goes.

No, I'm usually pretty nice to people I actually like.

Two phone messages, a PM and a thread with his name? He's not your soulmate or anything...I woulda just left a message on his house phone and waited a couple days. Then find new friends.

What would I think? I'd think my friend doesn't want to talk to me for some reason, and I'd accept the fact that I may never know why.

I think you have to drop it until he decides to get in touch.
