What would you say is the best canadian bank?

A bank is a bank. All of them will surcharge you to death whenever possible. So it really makes no difference which one to choose. The best you can do is find a specific branch with great personnel working there.

I'd say RBC is the best bet, but they're all bloody shysters with bank fees and such...

what about PC Financial.. is it available where you are?

Depends on what you need, being a student, PC Financial is great, no fees FTW! They're backed by Amicus (CIBC). I'm also with TD, but I don't use it for daily banking because of fees.

I was with RBC. They sucked. I'm now with TD. They suck a bit less. My girlfriend is with a Credit Union (Van City). She loves it.

They all have their problems.
I'm with Desjardins Credit Union. Good service, considering i do all my transactions online and see a real teller only to change my ATM card or my PIN number.

Personally I like Bank of Montreal... I have never had a problem with them... best rates around that I could find, and their online banking system is top notch...
