For a guy with a Tbird 800 (can OC to just under 1gig), and I just bought 2x 128mb Corsair 2400 cas2 sticks....
I'll be running a GF2 32mb, a Rhythmic edge (might upgrade to acoustic or siesmic edge later), a diamond fireport 40 dually SCSI card, and an intel pro100+ NIC.

I have a pep66 heatsink, and I can use my thin delta fan, but I'd prefer to be able to use a thicker 60mm sunon and wire it for less voltage......

I'm looking at either the Epox 8kha+ but I dont know if it has enough space for the pep66!
The MSI K7T266Pro2 also looks pretty good...but I dont like the CNR slot.

I don't need any features at all, just a basic DDR mobo :)

So what do you think of those? Also, if you have any recommendations, I'd gladly look at them so long as they fit the pep66 sink :D

TIA!

I just ordered the Abit KR7A mobo. I don't have it yet, so I can't say anything about it, but it looks to be a good solid mobo. I got the one with no raid cuz I don't need it but it has some very nice features and good overclocking options as well. I know this mobo isn't in your poll, but I thought I might give ya a reply anyway :)

I thought about the KR7, but around here it's $50 more than the MSI
The epox is only $10 more than the MSI...

The best basic Kt266a motherboard around is the AOPEN AK77 PROA VIA KT266A.
It's solid and very inexpensive. It can be found for less than $99 online.

If you need a cheaper solution the ECS K7S5A SIS 735 CHIPSET has very good performance as well as being found for less than $65.

Lots of good boards out there. I ordered the MSI because it has less stability problems than the epox and is only a hundred bucks. Oh yeah and it's red:) Good info can be found at amdmb

I can't get the Aopen boards around here though :(

I dunno about the ECS......I haven't heard very good things about them and I don't wanna risk getting a troublesome board that I'll have to return.

Thanks for the recommendations :)
