If you really aren't feeling confrontational about it, stick some boxes out at the curb clearly marked as donation for the Kidney Foundation. In each of those boxes, have printouts of this thread. The minister should get the hint that the gig is up without otherwise being exposed to public ridicule and/or embarrasment, not to mention any legal/professional ramifications.

Even if that were true, she has no right to do it. He put the stuff out to donate directly to a charity. She can't just steal it, sell it, and donate the cash and make it right.

You do realize that even if she is donating the cash, she is essentially still stealing from me. I get a tax benefit if I donate to charities. Them taking my stuff and selling it, then donating cash proceeds, it only get them a tax benefit. It eliminates my tax benefit.

So he is essentially still stealing from me no matter what charitable thing she might be during with my goods.

Next time: Pics of items at curb - make sure the items are somewhat unique and have unique markings on them (initials written with permanent ink perhaps.) Make sure there are plenty of signs marking the items for the kidney foundation

Set up cam to record who takes the stuff... if the minister, then just wait.

When minister sells stuff at her own garage sale, take pictures that will clearly identify the stuff as being the same as from your curb.

Prepare a 2 page brochure with pictures, present it to congregation.

Let me explain again. She is still taking items I would donate and get a tax credit for. Therefore depriving me of my tax credit and the benefits from the tax credit if he is doing what you say.

In the end it is still stealing from me regardless of what she doing with the items.

What a bottom feeding scum. You should film her so you have irrefutable evidence, and then you should confront her about it. If she denies, at least you will have evidence. Or just film yourself making a marker on desired items and then check at her yard sales.

People, it doesn't matter if she is taking the items and then selling them to help out her church, that's not the point. She shouldn't be touching OP's stuff anyways since the donation isn't designated to them, basically it's stealing.
