Heh you got taken for a ride, I bet he keeps the cash from the dvd player, and that is a smooth 300 bucks he just made. Try to contact his local police.

If he wont send your stuff back and cancel the auction I would sign up on Ebay with an annonymous ID and MAKE SURE nobody wins those auctions but you. That way you at least tie him up untill something can be done about it. Contact safeharbor@ebay.com and see if they can do anything, but since your transaction has nothing to do with them they will probably do nothing. You might try telling him you are going to contact his local district attorney and the local police if he doesnt return immediately. He didnt have your permission to sell on Ebay did he?

Look, have him ship it via UPS COD tomorrow. Don't waste time with this guy. People who do not hold up their end of the bargain usually find another excuse to put off doing what they are supposed to. You are a fool if you don't request him to ship it UPS COD tomorrow. That way, he can drop it off and you will get your item back.

And, where is your common sense? Why would you trade with someone on eBay who has 3 positive feedbacks? You should have had him send his item first. Get your crap back, pay the UPS guy the $$ for shipping and be done with it and hopefuly you won't learn an expensive lesson.

Also, if anybody reports that guy for offering to trade items on eBay the auction will be closed. (FYI)

Then he tells me that it wasnt his cam and he used someone elses pics. that worries me because the subs in the pic are 2002 and the one hes trading me better be a 2002.

Spin the yarn, as in LIE. He says he doesn't have the money, yet in his auction claims to have a new car. He has an auction (the one that hooked you) ending in a few days, he'll haev money then I presume, there was no need for him to auction your DVD player to get the money, it was unethical.

If he sent you the sub and was delaying the money it "might" be one thing, though still dishonest, but saying he can't even afford shipping on that sub? Very pitiful.

If he won't return your DVD player immediately (you've broken no deal, he is underfunded and unable to make any deal), then I suppose your next best bet would be to pursue it as a scam/theft. I think some folks have had success in contacting the local police (local to the thief) when they've been ripped off.

Good luck.

That is a good idea about ups cod, i didnt know there was a such thing. Its not that I dont have common sense, i am just too trusting. I just got into the whole trading/buying/selling thing and its worked out so far. Too bad i spent $30 shipping it to him and now I might have to pay for him to ship it back. This whole situation just blows. Thanks for your input.

yeah, and I'm not trying to be a prick, but you need to act quickly because you don't know who this guy is. people screw people on this forum all the time even though the person who got screwed had his address and what not. i just hate seeing people get s*it on by trolls.

good luck, and its better to lose that amount of money than have to worry about losing the item itself. just call it a mistake and move on......

What? You do not ask this person if it is "possible" if you can have your property back, you tell him that you insist on getting your property back immediately or you will see to it that he is prosecuted for fraud and theft.
Yakko had the most astute post here. This person has already ripped you off, planned from the beginning, and is already moving on to his next victim. Asking nicely will do you nothing.
Inform him immediately that he has failed entirely to complete his obligation to you, as stated in your previous agreements. Insist that he cancel his current plans and ship your property back to you, COD if necessary. Inform him that if he does not do this ASAP, that you will (1) post negative feedback, (2) contact Ebay and file a fraud/theft report, (3) contact his local authorities.
Do this now. If you wait, you will lose.

Couple things tho, this was entirely outside of ebay, i dont even think i can leave negative feedback. I saw his auction and asked him if he wanted to trade on the side and he said yea. So that takes out the first 2 things, and why would I lose if I wait a few days ?

crawford - This in not entirely outside of Ebay, This troll is selling stolen property at this point and I would guess that Ebay would be a little disturbed by this. You wait and you will not get a dime from this guy. There is no way he did not know about the shortage in funds and whatever alse he told you. You have been had by this dude and its time to do something about it not sit around and wait a few days.

TELL him you want it back - don't ask, you got to remember this is your property not his.

hope it works out for you whatever you decide.

IMO I think he is selling it to more less get rid of the evidence. He is probably thinking well I can sell this for a few hundred dollars and if the cops do indeed show up they can't prove nothing since I don't have it anymore. How things work now days you can't never tell as he might get away with a story like that.

I would ask for it back and if nothing else keep outbidding the highest bidder on ebay and win it so he can't sell it.

Why doesn't someone else here 'notice' the auction and email him about the speakers (I'd volunteer, but I'm on an airplane in a few hours). If he still has the extra set to 'trade' or 'sell', that should answer Crawfords hope that he's legit (Hint, he isn't, he stole your items and is now selling them)

I hate to be so blunt, but... Crawford, you are stupid. If the trade went down exactly as you said, then you have put yourself in an incredibly risky situation. To sit there and believe he doesn't even have enough money to send the item he promised is incredibly dense. Enjoy watching your property be Ebayed.

ok..... I knew i was putting myself in a risky situation I just didnt think he would be dumb enough to try to screw me when I have so much information about him. I guess Im the dumb one, but really I would do something about it if i lived closer. Maybe its worth the price of the plane ticket to go over there and break his legs ;) Well now he tells me that he had unexpected car bill or something like that, so it is possible that that could happen to a person.
