I have to admit, it has been a while since I've been dealing with hardware.

Purchased a new HDD yesterday, 320gb. WD EIDE.

I have a 60gb in the box right now.

I obviously want to toss the 320 in soon. . .but I don't know if I should just reformat both HDDs, and install XP on the 320. . .or keep XP and everything that is currently on the 60gb hard drive in tact and just format, partition and utilize the 320 as I see fit?

*shurg*

I know it might be an easy choice for some. . .but I really don't know which way to go this time.

A good bit of stuff (music, videos) is on the 60gb, along with obviously the OS. Just wish there was a good way to transfer the data and only have the operating system on the 60gb in it's own partition or something similar. But that would essentially still mean a fresh clean reformat to get rid of all / any artifacts that I have lingering.

I would do a fresh install of Xp on the 320GB drive, transfer all the data from the 60GB drive, then reformat the 60GB drive and use it as a back up.

Set the 60GB as master and the 320GB as slave.
Or leave the 60GB on the primary ide and put the 320GB on the secondary ide.
In xp go to disk manager and partition and format the 320GB.
Make a folder on the 320GB to hold all the stuff from the 60GB.
Swap the 320GB to primary ide and install xp without formatting it in setup.
