A coworker is telling people that a new hire that was with our company for only a few weeks quit because of me.

This is not true, and to make matters worse, the person spreading this lie is actually partly responsible for the new person leaving.

I have made an informal complaint and my supervisor said he would have a talk with him about it, but I want to go a step further, what would I have to do to file a formal complaint for slander? is it something a government agency would handle? The V.E.C. maybe? (Virginia Employment Commission)

I plan on talking to HR tomorrow.

The troublemaker is pissed at me because I gave my supervisor printouts of cookies and IE history showing that someone was surfing porn on my computer after I left for the day, this happened several times before it was found to be him doing it.

When I first found the trail I asked him and told him that if he was doing it I wouldnt say anything and it should stop but he denied it was him so I went ahead and showed the cookies/history to my supervisor who took it from there, it was kinky sick stuff too, water sports and such.

When he denied it, did he continue to look at porn? or were you just wanting him to admit to doing it?
He denied it, then a few days later it happened again, and one last time after that, which is when my supervisor took care of that problem, I didnt do anything after the first time I found the cookies/history, I just gave that stuff to my supervisor and he took it from there.

SO like water polo?

Don't be a dick, just let the supervisor handle it. If there's still trouble in a week, then look into taking matters into your own hands.

LOL!

Hey, I LIKE kayaking, don't call it "kinky sick stuff":|

I'd say your best bet is to tell him "Look, we need to work stuff out, meet me after work." Then get in your car with him and explain your position as you drive to the sausage factory. Once you get there, push him in one of the machines. Burn your clothes, drive your car into the lake, then go on with your life as if nothing happened. Most importantly, never go back to the factory "just to check it out" or anything. And obviously stop eating sausages for a LOOOONNG time.
