Since FDIC doesnt insure over $100,000... what would you do if you won $176 million?

and if you were to put it into a 'savings account' ... you'd need 1,760 different accounts.
 
swiss banks are still good afaik

I would get the money lump sum. Pay all taxes on it. Then move it to a swiss bank convert to euros . I would create a trust for half of it and the other half would be in money markets. I'd live very well off the interest alone.

What does putting it into a trust accomplish?
 
Actually, you could set up a CDARS account and be insured up to 5 mil I believe. Still that does come up a bit short of the entire amount.

Go on a around the world cruise (107 or 114 days depending on which one you do) with my gf and any family that wanted to go (I would pay for them obviously).

I would then go see a financial planner and make sure I can live off the interest for my life.

Then I would go get the gf and I some girls to share at the same time.

Then I would go buy the SSC Ultimate Aero

Then I would buy a house (only like a $300,000-$500,000 home though I don't need nor want more)

Then I would buy Focal Utopia's and build a home theater.

Then I would just do whatever the fuck I wanted whenever I wanted.
 
Buy a really big mattress to keep the cash in as the banks are useless. Hire 6 guys with AK-47 riflees to guard mattress. Hire 10 guys to keep a watch on the 6 guys.
 
But seriously....

I would build a nice house with a photo studio as well as a NICE garage with every tool you could ever need for woodworking or working on cars. Lift, pits, etc. (My 4-wheeling buds would really like that heh)

I would also open a retail location with a photo studio and a gallery. Build an office building or something on the same land and rent out the office space.

I would also find a nice spot in the mountains and build a rustic type cottage/log cabin sorta place in the middle of nowhere.

I would not go crazy with expensive cars/toys, etc. Probably get a boat and some jetski's and snow mobiles (gotta get to the cabin in the winter). Build one killer rock crawling rig and get something to tow it. Maybe an 09 Maxima or something nice like that. If I got some super fast car, I'd just get in trouble and I'd rather stay low-key.
