What would you do w/ $5million?

w/ 5 million dollars I'd do the basic things...

Get my parents a nice new house.
Pay off all my parents loans
Pay off my tuition, present and future
Get my parents a nice new car

That should be it... probably save the rest for later so I can get myself some things once I get a job =)

I'd bank most of it in a moderate cd or mutual fund account, and live a not so high life off the intersest and do a lot of hiking/camping/fishing, etc...with my brandnew laptop with portable satelite internet..

I'd give my parents $1 million, probably buy a new house, new car, new computer, pay for college, and probably get T1

I'd put it all into CDs and live off of the 6% interest forever. Hell 5 mil at 6% would give me 120k a year. So I would live off of 100k a year and invest the rest in the market or something. Basically I would live well but not ridiculously well and never work again.

Now considering an annual budget of around 100k I could afford a nice $30k car every couple of years. I'd probably get a three year old Jag or Benz or Bimmer which deprecaited down to the 30k range, buy a decent house, buy some nice audio equipment, not top of the line but nice stuff like Onkyo, Infinity, Polk, etc. Buy a new computer every year, and have lots of fun having no commitments other than going to the gym for an hour a day.

Oh and maybe I'd have a couple of people I don't like killed or beaten regularly.

get dual oc3 lines start worlds biggest software piracy ftp/website make lotsa cash doing that eventually get sued by every software company in the world and lose it all.



Really what I would do tho is:
1.) give 1mil to parents
2.) buy new house 500k+ has to be automated
3.) buy new cars/trucks/boats (hummer, viper, 69 mach 1 Mustang mint condition, mercedes, and some rice racer / Escalade , Silverado , Jeep Wrangler,hummer/ Yacht and some speed boats)
4.) Top O line Audio and Tv equipment (250k worth) for bedroom and living room)
5.) 3 new comps all 4k$ + range
6.) Buy an rc helicopter
7.) Furnish new house (100k)
8.) hire maid/butler/chef
9.) put rest of money in bank (1.5-2.5 mil ) and live off of interest
