theoretically you all of a sudden came into ownership of a firearm and $1,000 in cash?

How would you react and what would you do?

I'd sell the firearm, and spend the proceeds and 1000 on hookers and blow.

I think I'd be a lot more worried than if I just found the cash and no firearm.

Hookers and blow aren't real world suggestions?

Hypothetically, it could be kind of fun to put the money in a bag, hand the firearm to someone random on the street, and scream/act like you're getting robbed.

Considering the most likely ways one might come into sudden possession of both $1000 and a firearm at the same time... I would get rid of both of them and never talk about it.

Why do you have to "do" something? What's the big deal? It's just a gun and a little bit of cash.

Assuming he found it, it'd really suck if the gun was used to commit a crime and now he has it.

It kinda depends on the circumstances of acquiring such items - loose ends and everything. But I'd probably put the $1k in the bank since there's no record of cash, and...hmmm...I'm not sure what I'd do with a gun that I didn't want. I definitely would not want to get caught with a gun while I'm unlicensed, so I'd probably mangle it and throw it in a dumpster (a tragedy to deface a weapon, I know).

First thing I would probably do is turn on the TV and monitor the local stations for any murders. I would not touch the gun but put it in a sealed bag along with the money. Next thing I would do is call my wife and tell her to come pick up our kids from daycare and tell them to find a place to stay for a week or so.

At this point I would probably go to the cops with the cash and the gun. And then let nature take its course.

Depends on the kind of gun. If it were something small and concealable... ohhohoo. We won't go there.

Uhh... wait, what?

Anyway, OP, lifting cash and light arms from a drop zone intended for gang and/or gang members is probably not a great idea.

Damn you kids are slow, did everyone here ride the short bus or what?

The OP is trying to tell us he mugged a pimp.
