I'm curious. It has been widely debated whether homosexuality has a genetic component, is a learned behaviour, or a combination of the two. Either way, the parents are the biggest contributors. Each parent donates 50% of the genetic material of the offspring and parents are absolutely the largest social/developmental influence on the offspring. Given this to be the case, how can you then turn around and "disown" your gay child when you essentially have no one to "blame" for your kid's "problem" but yourself? Think about it.

It depends on what age they are.

If they tell me after they've left the house, I will accept them and love them just the same.

If they tell me while they still live with me, I will sit them down and have them fully explore why they feel they are gay, and understand the stigma, irrational hate and irrational fear they will face. I'll offer them help on how to deal with these things society throws at them.

Either way, they will always be my child, and I will love them just the same. My main concern will be that they remain both physically and mentally healthy... which is hard in a society filled with people who have irrational hate and fear of people like them.

I would elaborate but that is stupid too because no one really listens or cares what another person thinks on these forums they have their opinions and they pretty much wont change. I could write 20 pages and someone would cme and retort "homophobe" and that would be it or "biggot" and everyone would agree.

its just stupid.

Only reason i would tell my kid would probably be out of anger not thinking they would actually listen.
