So my group is moving this week and we are packing up, as I was going through my things I pulled out a small rolling filing cabinet that sits under my desk and on top of the cabinet was a keyboard and one of those accordion file folders, but behind the file folder I noticed a blue string thing...unsure of what it was at first I picked it up to take a closer look.
For an instant I figured it was a key or badge lanyard or something but upon inspection it turned out to be a pair of thong underwear...
So now I am at a loss for what to do. Part of me says to send out a company wide email asking if anyone is missing a pair of thong underwear, the other part says pin them up to the bulletin board in the hallway and leave a note saying "anyone own these?", and the last option I could come up with is bury them in a co workers moving box so that the gift can keep on giving.
Just wondering if anyone has ever seen anything like this before and what the typical course of action was...
And no, there was no one who lived in my cubicle before me and I was just in that area a week ago and they weren't there so this is a recent addition.
EDIT:
so far the current replys I have gotten from friends and co-workers are
1. it is a practical joke
2. someone has a crush
3. someone wants to see me model them (actually head of security suggested this when I said they were slacking)
4. Boss said I should hide them in someone elses office and see what they do
5. Friend said I missed the sexual harassment panda, should have made a stink with HR and lived off the company for a few years
6. One co worker said I planted them to be the cool guy who has panties in his office
7. Someone is trying to frame me ala the Seinfeld episode when george hits it with the cleaning lady
8. the night crew is hitting it at my desk, but that is a really obscure place to think of stuffing some panties considering they could just throw them out.
I didn't look at them closely enough to determine if they were crunchy and as I said above I didn't smell them, I also aready asked a few of the women in the department if they were missing a pair, none have come forward yet.
