So i finally have my X299 system put together. I OCed the CPU to 4,4GHz (its the 14-core flavour). I passed the 15 minutes of RealBench with 32GB setting and overall, system has been stable for all the other usual usage, including consecutive runs of Cinebench.... so i am willing to consider it stable until proven otherwise.
The thing is, the temps during Realbench stress test did rise occasionaly on some cores up to 98C, and 10 of the 14C crossed 90C. I am cooling it with 360 AiO (alphacool eisbaer) and the CPU is not delidded. The question now is, is this OK? Is it fine to stick to these settings, cause in general usage (including gaming and CAD work, which are probably the most demanding things i do on this computer) i wont get up to such temps, actually not even Cinebench does go over 90C...? Or should i rather dial my OC back to maybe 4,3 or even less if needed, to keep my temps ideally under 90C at all the times?
