Guys,

Just looking around at cars lately, In this range i have specified, what car is best bang for the buck ? ive looked around, and only the Honda Accord appeals to me. I currently have a 2002 Maxima SE with 160k on it. In the near future i might sell it due to Gas $$ and other things.

I have had a accord before, and must say, it is a nearly maintenance free car compared to my Maxima. I got sensors going out every 3-4 months that i have already changed and wat not.

I know alot of people would say Sonata, yes, it is indeed a amazing car, but im just one of those asians that well....wants a japanese car (ive always hated the slanted H) Hyundai has come a long way, to the fact that i like them, but its just a pet peeve to go with honda instead.

What are your thoughts ?

I have an '03 Maxima SE that has been nearly trouble free. I have 98,000 miles on it and I'm the original owner. Just routine maintenance, brakes, tires, fluid changes, etc.

Gas mileage does suck though.

Honestly, I'd probably look at that new Honda CRZ for a cheap fun commuter that gets good mileage. The new Ford Focus hatch looks like a winner too.

I just purchased a Hyundai Sonata SE. White on Black, combination leather and fabric seats which is nice, push button start, 200hp with 22/35 mpg cty&hwy. Loaded with tech stuff along with a great 5/60k bumper to bumper and 7yr/100k powertrain warranty. I would recommend that you do a test drive and see for yourself

In that price range, I'd look at the following:

Honda CRV AWD
Subaru Outback
Honda Civic
Honda Accord
Ford Focus
Ford Fiesta

One of those

OP, what size car are you looking for? Accord is a large car, the new one is a bit bigger than your Maxima.

Accord is boring but good. I think the new Fusion is a little better. Sonata is also quite good.

'12+ Focus is sweet, but that's a smaller vehicle, more nimble, better gas mileage. Honestly I would really really look at fuel economy if you're buying now, something that averages 30+ city/hwy is gonna be a big help compared to something that averages ~20 combined (think most fun V6 stuff). Getting something like Mazda3/Focus lets you have a bit of fun without needing a really thirsty motor.
