From crucial's Website:
What is covered under the limited warranty?
We guaranteed that our products will be free from defects in both materials and workmanship affecting form, fit, and function. This policy only covers defects arising under normal use and does not include malfunctions or failures resulting from:

Misuse
Abuse
Neglect
Alteration
Problems with electrical power
Usage not in accordance with product instructions
Act of nature
Improper installation or repairs made by anyone other than Crucial Technology or a Crucial Technology-authorized third-party service provider.

If we determine that failure of the product(s) was not a result of a defect in materials or workmanship, we reserve the right to charge the customer for parts and labor at Crucial's current labor rate. We will, of course, advise the customer prior to assessing these charges or other charges associated with return of products.

Hypothetically would the following void my RAM warranty:

A) The power goes out, and the RAM don't work afterwards.

B) The plug accidentally gets pulled from the surge protector while the computer is running, the RAM don't work afterwards.

Would A & B void the RAM warranty based on the the "Problems with electrical power" exception?

C) What about a hard shut down using the power switch?

You should probably ask Crucial directly as they would be the ones offering an interpretation should you ever approach them with an RMA. It's their legaleeze.

Unless the chips have been fried by pushing the voltage too high or you've physically modified/scratched/etc the sticks they will probably cover them.

But for a definitive answer, Yellow is correct: ask crucial tech support.

No, I didn't touch the DIMMs and the voltage was set within specified limits. I wouldn't think that a warranty would be voided because the power cord was pulled from the surge protector, but if it would void the warranty, I would kind of like to know that before I call them.

Just call them. By that logic, if the power goes off from the utlity company turning off the power while installing a new transformer, that would void your warranty.

You are forgetting the overall condition mentioned: "Normal Use".

If half the module is blown away or it's melted, that probably signifies "Abnormal Use". Pulling the plug on a PC is normal use.

Most manufacturers put "electrical" in their verbiage to cover lightning and other high voltage spikes. To get a clear answer, contact their support though.
