What would Thanksgiving have been like in the 1990's?

Cell phones weren't ubiquitous. Internet was 28.8kbps or at best 56kbps. Steve Urkel was still cool.

Probably very boring since now Thanksgiving relies so much on cellphones, fast internet access, and tv sitcoms.

Family, turkey, and football... not much changed for Thanksgiving, even if you have greater technology now.

WTF does that have to do with Thanksgiving? Your post makes no sense.
Maybe to you. I know my turkey was using his cell phone to get on the internet to check his facebook. Too bad for him. He was distracted and I chopped his head off.

What year did SF2 come out for the SNES around thanksgiving? I remember a cousin bringing it in cause it was hard to get and we all FLIPPEd and proceeded to play straight through until 6AM the next morning. When my aunt woke up and saw us still playing she got pretty pissed and sent us to bed.. which we did for like 3 hours and started again.

It was a colder ice age time period. Thanks to global warming I can put up my Christmas lights in shorts and a t-shirt.

Only difference that comes to mind is that we have big HDTVs to watch the footballs games. Everything else the OP listed is for those that spend Thanksgiving alone.

Same as now:

Watch football and eat dinner.

(Except that now I am neffing while watching football and dinner includes a number of kids.)

How does technology play any role in thanksgiving? Other than the machines used to slaughter all those turkeys, which have probably not really changed since then.

Before the internet, you spoke to distant relatives only once in a while on a late night long distance phone call and you saw them face to face once or twice a year (Thanksgiving and/or Christmas).

Now you can email them constantly and see them on Skype as often as you like and the holidays don't really mean so much.

its basically the same as it is now, family football and food, maybe doing yard work if the leafs need to be cleaned up still

back in the day we didn't have internet but we still had PCs and consoles to play games alone of with family as well as board games and all that

More drinking back then. Now there is less drinking and driving, unless mom is the designated driver and pop is passed out behind grandpa's couch in the man cave.
