I don't see what the big deal is. Even if the Newegg warranty has expired it can be RMA'ed to XFX.

Well if he really have this problem for 2 months RMA should not be problem - its not like it broke last day of warranty. And I dont see anything bad an his hope to get better card - he said that he wants good 6800 and he only hopes to get better.

Why not RMA when you first have the problem? The longer you procrastinate the more likely your RMA is going to be denied.

That was the most horrific ethics violation i've ever read about. Goddamn, You're competing with Darfur.

edit: maybe I should say a bit more.
"Don?t worry they can afford it and I don?t do it often I will try what I can"

I can't even start to point out how stupid that statement is. That's like saying:
"Don't worry, he's in excellent health. I'll just stab him a few times, it'll be just this one time."

You should be ashamed of yourself. But since the word ethics probably isn't in your vocab, I doubt you are.

They will give you a feature equivelent video card. I had a Biostar NF 325-A7, and they gave me an EPoX board that was equivelent.

He thought that problem was caused by mobo - he RMAed it and after that he realized that prob. was in G card.

He obviously doesn't know how to troubleshoot hardware. SHould have swapped Video first as it's more of a PITA to pull out a mobo.

could have barrowed/bought a used PCI card. That would have most likely told you if it was the card. Its possible the slot could have went bad but thats rare to happen.

Hello All,

If you send an item in for a RMA that is still within Newegg's warranty and we do not have an identical replacement available, we will usually offer:

a) a refund for the current market value
b) a replacement with similar features and specifications

In either case, our RMA department will calculate the current market value and research an equivalent replacement to offer. They [the RMA department] will communicate this information via email.

If anyone has any other questions, please do not hesitate to send us a PM. Also, feel free to include your SO# and/or RMA# in your PM?s for better assistance.

Newegg's unparalleled RMA is one of the reasons that I don't mind paying a few bucks more for item(s).

Personally I would send it back to XFX just to be safe. A refund or replacement of current market value would be a very bad deal coinsidering that a 6800GT is only worth <$150 new right now. Heck, you can get an EVGA 7600GT KO for $140 (after a $20 rebate). A replacement could be a 6800XT, which can easily be found for <$100.

I had to RMA my XFX 6800GT and the turn around time was actually very fast. About 8 total days from the time I shipped it until I received my replacement. This was over a year ago though, and with all the 7900 series issues everyone seemed to have, they might be a little more backed up now.
