What would make me cool?

With a purchase coming up, not sure which CPU HSF to get with this very tall Corsair Vengence memory... One I'm considering is the Xigmatek Aegir. This will be on an Asus P8P67-Deluxe MB.

I want a HSF that's easy to install, cools really well with not outrageous db levels, and fits with the above tall memory...

Geez, good question.

The way I saw them advertised was 2 4gb sticks... would be better for fit with that cooler?

I can't say 'ALL", pretty much any air cooler that is not some 14lb behemoth will fit with 2 modules using the slots farthest from the CPU. Most people that have issues are having them with med or large coolers and 4 modules.

I seen the Tuniq Tower Extreme top out on a HS&F shoot out, but not all reviews are the same. The TTE costs 59$ at NE, and a CoolMaster 212 comes in at 29$ at MicroCenter. The Coolmaster was within the top 10 of the shootout...

The heatsinks on the Vengeance memory is ridiculous. Don't understand why people buy that stuff. The Archon is supposed to clear memory slots, but it's pretty tall and won't fit in all cases. The Corsair H60 which costs the same as the Archon would probably be good too.

Gee, latest rumor that AMD Bulldozer coming @ second week of June...Maybe I'll wait to compare it to Sandy Bridge-E / i7-2600k / Asus P8P67...which is what I was going to get...

This comp I'm upgrading is the 'gaming' machine in the household...

IRSE... Yep, that Noctua looks good...

Patrick.... Lots of folks not too happy w/ the Corsair H60...Yup, that memory is TOO TALL...

Where did you hear that? I've been reading the Corsair forums and only one guy had issues. The reviews on Newegg seems good. Was thinking about getting it in about 6 mo to replace the D14
