Won't happen, despite the articles speculation of Canadian offices, Matrox offers nothing for nVidia. It would be cheaper for nVidia to just setup an office out there than buy out a company that offers nothing substantial.
They could just buy ATI and get it over withOriginally posted by: 5150Joker

I like matrox, but the parhelia was a pile of crap. The best 2d output possible, with a shimmer that would appear on your desktop due to a bug in the core. 512 bit memory controller, with a complete and utter lack of z-culling. *Smacks head*
Hopefully somebody picks up their technology, though I doubt they're going anywhere as a lot of people still use their solutions, just not enthusiasts.

I work at Matrox and I haven't heard anything about this (officially or through the grapevine). As a sidenote, as mentionned in the article, Matrox is privately held by its founders one of which is still around and actively involved in the company, the guy is already filthy rich, so I don't really see what incentive he would have to sell.
I have no idea what's in the pipeline as far as GPUs go, but as far as I can tell the focus is on the multi-monitor market (3 or monitors/card) so I wouldn't expect Matrox to be releasing much for gamers.
