All of the craziness around gun control, on both sides, has gotten me thinking about how people accept change.
A direct reading of the 2nd amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms to resist tyranny. The right isn't for sport or entertainment. With that said, when do you believe we would reach the point of tyranny and when would you support an armed revolution? I'll provide some examples, but feel free to come up with your own. I'm also not saying any of these are realistic and we don't need to debate whether or not they could actually happen.
1. A ban on the manufacture of ammunition.
2. A ban on all semi-automatic firearms, including confiscation of existing arms.
3. A ban on all firearms, including confiscation of existing arms.
4. Political opponents of whatever governing administration are jailed.
5. Suspension of habeas corpus.
6. Suspension of the 4th amendment.
7. Confirmed evidence that non-violent dissidents are being jailed/imprisoned/executed.
8. A foreign state gains control through political agreement, subterfuge, or outright war.
9. Tax rates increased to 75% on all brackets.
