Depends on the state. In Texas, 20+mph over the speed limit results in the death penalty.

Yes, but in Texas, so does 20 under ;)

Its dumb enough to speed like that, you don't need to further reveal your stupidity by bragging about it.

First of all it was 3 am in rochester middle of nowhere. Who else was out there? Other cars? Hah!
Second, I was asking merely of the legal implication of such a thing: possible jail time, license revoked etc etc etc....not bragging. Don't get it twisted.

Actually my friend was the one to ask me to see how fast we could go. It was a road/area we were familiar with.

News Flash: You are not Mario Andretti and your car is not a 350Z.

I was only going that speed for a few brief minutes as a test.

Shouldn't be a prob. When we drive over to Chicago dad used to drive 120 when we are in the middle of nowhere.

...in almost all states I believe they can arrest in triple digits as reckless driving can prevail.

It's really depend on the officer though...he could probably fill your trunk with citations at that point.

I am thinking the car probably has a governor that is set below 135 MPH. Could be wrong.

i don't know but to me 135 doesnt seem that fast. Not that smart, but I'd have no reason to doubt it.

If my Saturn wasn't governed at somewhere right over 125 indicated I'd have pushed faster on the trip to Louisiana from here (16 hours).
