What would happen if you walked out your front door and fired a gun in the air?

The cop that lives in my building would probably have something to say about it.

Nothing. Happens around my neighbor a lot. A few years back some people did a drive-by across the street and killed some mexican.

Back home, nothing. New place, probably nothing because it's infested my old people who can't hear.

most likely nothing.

i can go in the backyard and fire a gun if i want. the county sheriffs won't do a damn thing. in fact i have a sheriff living right down the street and he set up a gun range in his backyard.

hahahaha

i live in Manhattan. Nobody would notice the noise above all the clitter-clatter we have going on around here. If I were back in the OC, people would probably assume the fetal position as well.

I thought this thread was going to be about the whole bullet coming back down thing.

Discharge of firearms is banned in my hometown, and the neighbors would undoubtedly call it in. As for college... yeah, quick way to go to jail.

I'd hit the floor of the second floor of the house.

If I took a few more steps, might hit the telephone wire. Maybe the kids across the street will freak out. Otherwise, I've had a bomb go down the street, some retard running over a firing hydrant and a bunch of shootings a block away, yet I heard none of them.

In a perfect world:

- You would be arrested for reckless endangerment and possibly for violating laws against the discharge of weapons within the city limits if you don't live in the country.

Firing into the air is incredibly irresponsible. What goes up, must come down, and there is a very real possibility of injuring someone with your stray bullet.

Now, in some areas, neighbors would not bother to report the incident, etc, but I definitely think that anyone who fires into the air deserves to face charges.

I expect one of the police would probably hear it and come check it out (main station is maybe a mile away). Beyond that, I don't know. Not sure if they'd bust me or tell me not to be a dumb-ass.

The police detective that lives in the house a field over from me would have some questions... IF he heard it

Why did you feel it was necessary to point out his nationality? Why is he just "some" Mexican, rather than "a" Mexican?

You have repeatedly made me sick with your thinly veiled racist remarks. I will continue to point this out.
